Open a terminal and enter the following command   $ cd /etc/modprobe.d $ sudo gedit alsa-base

Open a terminal and enter the following command

$ cd /etc/modprobe.d
$ sudo gedit alsa-base.conf

and add these 4 lines to the bottom of the file (i.e right after options snd-pcsp index=-2)

options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

and restart the machine. Your sound should work now, good luck.

What i will right after options snd-pcsp index=-2

(I have no sound in headphone but my front Build in speakers produced sound )
(I want to hear a sound from Head phone)

I have Dell optiplex 380 machine branded no extra device is associated with it but when i plug head phone jack into it no Sound was recieving
my sound card.
chip name is Realtek AlC269,HDA Intel
