Ubuntu has a nice and simple .img image writer to burn your img to flash disk drive

Open a terminal and run the following command

sudo apt-get install usb-imagewriter

This will install image writer.

Goto Applicatioons - Accessories - ImageWriter and launch it.

Select a file and the flash drive and hit write. Enjoy!
