Just make your image
size - 2560x1600
name - bg_2560x1600.jpg
rename the current image in /usr/share/images/xsplash from bg_2560x1600.jpg to bg_2560x1600.old.jpg
Then copy your new pic over to the /usr/share/images/xsplash directory
I did this all logged in as root and it did the trick

Try copying the new pic after removing the old ones...be sure to have a copy of that, in case anything goes wrong. To copy the pic: sudo cp -R source /usr/share/images/xsplash source is the location of ur new picture eg:/home/bg_2560x1660.jpg

1st remove the old ones.

Try with the sudo command, it should work because /usr is not a user directory
