What is the best HTML editor to use on linux (ubuntu 9.04)?

I'm getting started with web development and looking for a simple and good HTML editor, please help

I think the "best editor" is the one who siuts your needs. If you would like a simple editor with autocomplete, wich runs smooth without consummning too much memory, you should take a look at Komodo.
Here is a how to install tutorial. You don't have to use Komodo, but you should try it.
