Please help me to install 3d desktop of compiz or beryl on my ubuntu machine. I have seen cool demos about it and excited to have it on my machine

    Well, installing Compiz is easy but its configuration requires some expertise. You can search for CCSM or compiz-settings-manager in Synaptic Package Manager and install it. Then you will need to go to System --> Administration and open Compiz from there.
     
    Before you do that, why don't you right click on your desktop, go to 'Change Desktop Background', select the 'Visual Effects' tab on the top right hand side. Under that there are available 3 options - None, Normal and Extra. Depending on your hardware (specifically the graphics) try the latter two and see if that suffices your 'wow' needs :)
