I would really like to run Oracle on Ubuntu if it is possible.  I've done a lot of searching, but apparently Oracle will not run on Ubuntu.  I know that Oracle XE will install, but I need something more.  Since Oracle is such an important system, it seems to me that it would be beneficial to many if Oracle would operate on Ubuntu.  In the Oracle 11g documentation there is a list of the compatible linux operating systems, and Ubuntu is not there: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/install.111/b32002/pre_install.htm#CIHFICFD
