adaptor = Belkin wireless G plus MIMO USB network adaptor model # f5d9050
64 bit version recognizes adaptor on boot-up and installs driver and assigns /sys/class/net/wlan1 as it should.
32 bit version of 9.10 doesn't see it at all.
maybe re-compile and post new version for 32-bit systems?

Thanks tom for the detailed explanation. It makes total sence. Might be a bug in 32 bit driver or may be even in ubuntu. If possible raise a bug and share the info.

- tomkersey 2 years 2 weeks agoreboot on 32 bit machine did not help, however, accidentally plugging in adaptor at a certain time during boot up caused the system to recognize the adaptor once or twice. But, I haven't been able to isolate the exact timing to get it to repeat this. Could possibly be something related to timing of loading the rt73 module (?) but I can't figure it out. I tried putting the loading of the module up front at boot time but it didn't help. Since it works right everytime with the 64 bit kernel, yo no comprendo!
Not sure why there is a difference between 32 bit ubuntu and 64 bit systems. Usually it is the 64 bit systems gives trouble. Did a reboot help?
