Networking disabled in ubuntu 10.04

My desktop has ubuntu 10.04 installed and was working fine. All of a sudden the network dissapeared and showing Networking disabled. I didnt do anything. How to fix this?

thanks commenter, i can't believe i missed rt clicking on the networks icon, can't believe that's not someplace else obvious in the network tools or connections system items

Not sure how or why this happened, but this can be easily fixed.

From a terminal open interfaces file

sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces

add the following two lines if missing

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

restart networking

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

worked for me.
had to remove other auto eth0 entries for dsl-provider

right clicked on the network icon worked for me.
ubuntu 10.04 is giving me only headaches so far. interface, audio and network problems. lol.

if you right click on the little wifi symbol u can re-enable networking
