I am used to WinSCP on the windows machine. command line scp command on ubuntu works great but sometimes i have the feeling that it would be great to use a tool like WinSCP. Is there a ubuntu scp client?

Answer

There is!!! of course it's integrated with the "os gui" (gnome). Justo go to Places -> Connect to Server - Select ssh from the menu and provide your login info. After that, It's mounted as a local drive. You could save the login information into your keychain also... Hope that helps...
P.D.: If you want a separate app for the same thing... I suggest Filezilla the sftp protocol from filezilla It's compatible with scfp from ssh.
