Recently, 2 days ago, installed ubuntu 10.04.1.  Just received notice of some updates this morning and after they installed advised to restart.  So, said ok and system began to shut down but never started back up....is there a fix?  Thank you.

Answer

Hope you are able to see the boot menu after the restart. Choose the recovery mode option and it should fix your problem.
