I know that it is installed correctly, because when I remove the HD and connect it to a HP Pavilion a465c it runs OK. I checked the memory  in the a647c using the live Ubuntu DVD and it is OK. I also installed Ubuntu's 7.10 and 8.10 and neither would run on the a647c but would run on the a465c.

The BIOS is Phoenix - Award V6.0 Rev 3.15 - 08/05/2004

The HD is 200GB - Seagate
