Please help how to install mysql query browser on my ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala desktop...

After upgrading to ubuntu 9.10, whenever i use chrome and any site that has a dropdown or combo box in it, it appears as a blank white list. None of the items shows up or selectable. We have to use keyboard to select an item. This is annoying. Any fix?

I liked the simplicity of google chrome browser and want to install google chrome on my ubuntu desktop. So i went to http://tools.google.com/chrome/?hl=en but unfortunately there is only a Learn More button instead of a Download button. Understood there is a download only for windows xp and vista. Where can i find a google chrome download for ubuntu?

Is there are way to configure default applications to launch in Ubunt?
for example the default mail client, default browser, default video players, etc..

Firefox 3.5 browser just got released  and i tried
sudo apt-get install firefox
and also
sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5
but no luck. Still i see only firefox 3.0 browser installed on my machine. 
Please help
