How to fix Add VPN buttons disabled in ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala?

I was using kvpnc in ubuntu 9.04 jaunty. Looks like now ubuntu 9.10 ships with a vpn connection application and it supports cisco vpn as well. But when i try to add/import, i am seeing all the buttons in the VPN connections dialog is disabled. How to enable these buttons so that i can import my cisco vpn profile?

How to remote connect from ubuntu without a linux cisco vpn client?

My work uses Cisco VPN for remote acess to office machines. I don't find a cisco vpn client for ubuntu. Is there a client / software that i can use to connect to my work's cisco vpn and use remote desktop?
This software must also include a feature to import my cisco vpn profile.
