SATA hard disk not available in file browser and not listed in fdisk or lshw

Also posted on Launchpad: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/146058

(running Ubuntu 10.10)

I have 4 hard disks and 1 dvd drive in my pc. I dual boot between Ubuntu and Windows 7.
Windows 7 detects and works fine with all four hdds and dvd drive.
Ubuntu only seems to detect 3 disks and the dvd drive.

I can't see the drive in the file browser or in the list from "sudo fdisk -l"or in the results of "sudo lshw".

Mounting my hdd?

I predominantly use Windows 7, but I like messing around in Ubuntu IF I can access my files in 7. Could someome please give a very clear (in "stupid" terms) description of how to mount my harddrive so I can access all files in both OSs? Please and thank you.
