I have up-graded my Ubuntu from 9.10 to 10.04 LTS  -  Now the computer starts but there is now picture on the screen.
 

I have a machine with a drive and memory, but I cannot find a version of Ubuntu that will install on it. All versions I have tried come up with the message "cannot be installed on a dos system"

For one of my projects i need nokogiri and i tried installing using
 
sudo apt-get install nokogiri and no luck.
 
Also tried
 
sudo gem install nokogiri
 
How to install nokogiri so that i can continue, advance thanks

If not can someone tell me another good linux OS for it? Thank You

Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx is released today the 29th April 2010. Now by this time most of you would have done a new install or upgraded from the older ubuntu 9.10 release to the newest release.
 
I am starting this thread to know and share our experiences installing or upgrading ubuntu 10.04.

i downloaded vmware workstation installation file VMware-Workstation-Full-7.0.1-227600.x86_64.bundle from vmware.com. But i don't know to install using .bundle file. Please help...

I have VirtualBox 3.0.12 r54655 installed on my ubuntu 64bit desktop machine. When i launched the virtual box, it prompted that there is an update available and pointed me to download the .deb file virtualbox-3.1_3.1.2-56127_Ubuntu_jaunty_amd64.deb and i downloaded the same.
 
When i right clicked on the file and selected "Open with GDebi Package Installer", it is giving me the following error message
 
Error: Conflicts with the installed package 'virtualbox-3.0'
