All, Trying Unbuntu for the first time on an older Dell Poweredge 2500. Machine works to standard but I am having difficulty in getting this installed.  The install failed several times informing me of the CD not being read.  Upon further attempts, I downloaded the file once again, created the cd by unsing InfraRecorder at a speed of 6x and attempted once again.  I get the same failures.
 
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I installed Purr, and now anytime I try to install a new package program near the end about 80% complete I get an error message saying it can not complete because of Purrr. I also get the same thing during upgrades. I tried uninstalling Purr, but can't because I get the same thing.

I am installing Linux on my hp. It is Windows Vista. It is home to all info, documents,everything. I want to install Linux without reformatting.
