My microsoft wireless presenter mouse 8000 is not working on my ubuntu desktop but works great on my windows desktop. It used to work before but all of a sudden stopped working. I am not sure this was caused due to a ubuntu update or not....

The green bluetooth light indicator under the mouse blinks and switches between green and red constantly

How to get this to work?

I am getting the following error in ubuntu while launching synergy2 as a server to share my mouse and keyboard with my windows vista machine

I have a couple of machines and run windows and ubuntu respectively but have only one mouse keyboard. It is a kind of pain switching back and forth the mouse and keyboard between machines. Is there a software solution for sharing?
