Ok so I failed at installing java-jre and now when I load up my update manager it says "Software index is broken" and tells me to use "Synaptic' but when i do i get the same error that i get when i run "sudo apt-get install -f".  and that error is my question.  How can i reinstall java-jre?  This is killing my day.  Thxxx

After installing the updates on July 6th, now I can't load Thunderbird. I receive the following message:

Couldn't execute command: /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4/thunderbird " " Verify that this is a valid command.

What do I change or is this something that has to be updated again?

Since today's ubuntu update, my screen went blank twice and my browser closes arbitrarily. Anyone else having problems?
