I turned my computer on and it comes up with ways to boot and I clicked Ubuntu with linux 2.6.38-13-generic. There was a recovery mode too. Once I clicked its writing come up:

Ive tried Wine and will not connect I want to use Phillips Wifi media connect with my Ubuntu 11.10 laptop for video watching and will not connect any one get this to work???

Since the launch of ubuntu 11.04 with unity interface there is lots of frustrations in ubuntu community and not to mention lot of issues with ubuntu installations.

On the other end Linux Mint is gaining community adoption and growing faster.

Is ubuntu loosing to linux mint or is it just an illusion?

ya, well I finaly decided to give Ubuntu a try. 

I went and found an emply hard drive, and got to work on installing. And like an Idiot forgot to unplug my backup harddrive from my computer, make a long story short I formated my backup harddrive, and installed on that.

I was able to run "photorec_win.exe" and I got some of my files back, but they are a jumbled mess and it will take me years to find what is what (Its a 1TB drive and only had 40 free GB).

I hope somebody will help me.

I have a mac (intel core 2 duo) and I have already burned Ubuntu on a cd.

when I boot Ubuntu (with the c key) the screen become black and we see a little white prompt but it isn't possible to type anything (and I can't do escape or anything else).

did you see this before ?
